Red Blood Cell on Fibrin Mat

This is an SEM micrograph of a red blood cell anchored to a fibrin matrix. Note the tendon like structures anchoring the cell to the underlying fibrous mat. The sample preparation method used in creating this micrograph resulted in some deformation in the red blood cell.
